Chinese braised chicken

Ingredients:
- Chopped onion 1 cup
- Chicken, skinned, fat removed 3 lb
- Water 1 cup
- Low sodium soy sauce 1/2 cup
- Chopped fresh ginger 2 tb
- Sugar (or sugar substitute) 2 tb
- Garlic, chopped 1 clove
Method:
- Place 1/2 cup chopped onion in bottom of Crockpot liner.
- Add chicken.
- Combine water, soy sauce, chopped ginger, sugar (or sugar substitute), and garlic.
- Pour over all. Add the other ½ cup of chopped onion.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
