Fondant cake

Ingredients;

  • Fruit cake(round)     3 pound
  • Unsalted Butter         350 gm
  • Icing sugar                 125 gm
  • For fondant icing:
  • Icing sugar                 750 gm
  • Corn syrup                 1/2 cup
  • Water                       1-1/2 cup
  • Gelatin                           2 tbsp   
  • Glycerin                         2 tbsp
  • Oil                                   4 tbsp

Method;

  1. Beat icing sugar and butter on low speed for 5 minutes , then on high speed for 20 mintes till becomes soft and fluffy butter cream.
  2. Add vanilla essence in it and beat again.
  3. Cut cake in three equal halves .
  4. Spread butter cream evenly on the first layer of the cake, then place the second layer of cake over it and spread butter cream evenly on this layer.
  5. Now place the third layer of cake over it , spread a heavy and even layer of butter cream covering the top and sides. Now place in the refrigerator .
  6. For fondant: in a pan , melt gelatin with water , add corn syrup , glycerin and oil and mix it.
  7. Now shift this mixture in the icing sugar mix it with an oiled wooden spatula for 5 mins.
  8. Now oil your hands and knead it with some water for 20 minutes wrap it in a plastic sheet and keep it in the refrigerator so that it becomes firm.
  9. Take out and roll it on a flat surface according to the size of cake.
  10. Spread it nicely and evenly on the cake.
  11. Garnish with flowers.
