Warming Autumn Crumble

Ingredients:
- 100 gm whole meal flour
- 50 gm margarine, diced
- 100 gm light brown sugar
- 25 gm flaked almonds
- 225 gm plums, quartered and stoned (pitted)
- 450 gm tart apples, sliced
- Grated rind and juice of 1 small orange
- Custard Sauce to serve
Method:
- Put the flour in a bowl. Add the margarine and rub in with the fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in half the sugar.
- In a separate bowl, mix the almonds with the plums, apples and orange rind and juice. Stir in the remaining sugar.
- Turn into an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the crumble over and press down lightly. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C/ 375°F/gas mark 5 for about 45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot with Custard Sauce.
