Home-made Apple Crisp

Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups chopped apples
- 3/4 cup uncooked oatmeal
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1tsp vanilla
- Ice Cream or Whipped Cream for topping
Method:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon until crumbly. Divide in two.
- Press half of the crumb mixture into a 9X13 inch baking pan (greased).
- Then spread dices apples in it.
- In a pot combine sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla. Cook until the mixture becomes clear and thickened.
- Pour over the apples.
- Add remaining crumb mixture over top and place baking dish in 350 F oven for 30-40 minutes.
- Serve with ice cream, whip cream, or caramel sauce.
