Home-made Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups chopped apples
  • 3/4 cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • Ice Cream or Whipped Cream for topping

Method:

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon until crumbly. Divide in two.
  2. Press half of the crumb mixture into a 9X13 inch baking pan (greased).
  3. Then spread dices apples in it.
  4. In a pot combine sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla. Cook until the mixture becomes clear and thickened.
  5. Pour over the apples.
  6. Add remaining crumb mixture over top and place baking dish in 350 F oven for 30-40 minutes.
  7. Serve with ice cream, whip cream, or caramel sauce.

The crispy apple crumble. Perfect dessert for those chilly winter evening.
