Badaam biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all−purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp almond essence
  • blanched almonds for decoration
  • beaten egg for glazing

Method:

  1. Take a bowl and filter flour, baking powder and salt in it.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until white and fluffy. Beat in the egg and almond essence.
  3. Add all the dry ingredients to make dough.
  4. Form the mixture into balls and place these on a greased tray.
  5. Place half an almond on each ball and press to flatten slightly. Brush it with beaten egg.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes.
