Ingredients for Shoal Sheesh Mehel:
Chicken 16 pieces 1 cut
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Chilli powder 1 tbsp
Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
Salt 1-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1-1/2 tsp
All spice 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Brown onion grinded 4 tbsp
Green chillies whole 8
Yogurt 1 cup
Coriander leaves 4 tbsp
Mint leaves 15
Brown lentil 1 cup
Boiled eggs 3
Oil 1 cup
Potatoes 3
Rice (boiled)
Whole spices 1 tbsp
Kewra Saffron As required
Method:
Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste chilli powder, roasted cumin, salt, turmeric. coriander powder, brown onion, green chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves for 2 hours.
In a large pan, put 1/2 cup oil. Spread the marinated chicken, top with boiled lentils, fried potatoes and hard boiled eggs. Top with boiled rice.
Then add saffron and kewra mixture and remaining 1/2 cup oil. Cover pan and cook on high flame for 10 minutes. Then lower the flame and cook for 20 minutes. Serve with raita and kachomar.
