Ingredients:
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Milk as required
- Oil for deep frying
For Donuts Topping:
- Melted chocolate
- Icing sugar as required
- Colorful chocolate chips
Method:
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in a half cup water and leave for 10-15mins.
- In another bowl, mix plain flour, salt and baking powder.
- Beat egg lightly and add beaten egg and the yeast paste one by one in the flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Then knead the dough using milk using fingertips.
- Cover the bowl of dough with plastic sheet and leave for 3 hrs.
- After 3hrs when dough rises to double knead it again by using some plain flour over it.
- Then divide the dough in two pieces and roll one of the pieces using wooden roller.
- Using donut cutter cut the rolled dough into donut shape.
- Heat oil in the deep pan and fry the donuts on low heat until light brown.
- To serve, sprinkle favored topping of melted chocolate, powdered sugar or colorful chips.
