Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients:
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup butter, cubed
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 egg whites
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate baking chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- For the Glaze:
- 1 cup 60% cocoa bittersweet chocolate baking chips
- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- Caramel topping can also be used (Optional)
Method:
- Melt unsweetened chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl; stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
- In another bowl, combine sugar and chocolate mixture.
- Stir in egg whites and vanilla. Gradually add flour to chocolate mixture. Stir in chips.
- Spread into a greased baking pan and bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes
- Cool on a wire rack.
- For glaze, in a microwave, melt chips and butter; stir until smooth.
- Immediately spread over brownies.
- Serve warm.
