Daal Pulao by Chef Zakir

Ingredients:

  • Rice 300 gram
  • Gram lentils boiled 125 gram
  • Black lentils boiled 125 gram
  • Onion 1
  • Tomatoes boiled 3
  • Green chillies 3-4
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Peas boiled 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves 1 branch
  • Ginger 1
  • Ghee 1/2 cup
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Water 1-1/2 glass
  • Mix whole spice as required
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Firstly, heat ghee, add onion chopped and fry until soft.
  2. Then add garlic & ginger and cook for few minutes.
  3. Now add mix whole spice, fennel seeds, curry leaves & chopped green chillies and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Now add water and salt.
  5. When water boils and starts cooking, add soaked rice, boiled peas, boiled gram lentils & boiled black lentils and cook it.
  6. When rice comes on top, give simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. When ready, serve it.
