Kung pao shrimps

Ingredients:

  • Garlic                 3 cloves
  • Prawns               1/2 kg
  • Egg                        1
  • Oil                       as req
  • Ginger                  1 tsp
  • Chilli paste        3 tsp
  • Cornflour          5 tbsp
  • Soy sauce          2 tbsp
  • Salt                     to taste
For gravy:
  • Carrot                1
  • Capsicum          2
  • Green chillies   3
  • Onion               half
  • Garlic           3 cloves
  • Cashew nuts   as req
  • Ginger                 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup  3 tbsp
  • Chilli sauce           4 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste   3 tbsp
  • Oil                      1-1/2tbsp
  • Salt                     to taste
  • Chicken cube      1

Method:

  1. In a bowl , mix chopped garlic, ginger , chilli paste, cornflour , oil, egg , soy sauce.
  2. Add the prawns in it and keep aside for marination.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the prawns.
  4. In another pan, heat oil add garlic, tomato ketchup, water, chilli sauce, tamarind paste and chicken cube and mix.
  5. Add cashew nuts, veggies ,ginger and add cornflour while stirring.
  6. In the end add tomatoes and prawns.
  7. Serve


Grilled prawns with chilli garlic sauce 

Ingredients:

  • Prawns                 1/2 kg
  • Garlic                  1 full
  • Spring onions       2
  • Carrot                     1
  • Rice                     1 cup
  • Lemon                   2
  • Tomato ketchup 1 cup
  • Oil                         1/2 cup
  • Crushed ginger   1 tbsp
  • Crushed red chilli  2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Cut prawns in butterfly shape
  2. In a bowl, mix lemon juice , crushed garlic , ginger , salt, red chilli and oil and mix well.
  3. Marinate prawns with this mixture and keep aside for 1/2 hr
  4. In a pot boil water , add salt and rice and bring to a boil.
  5. Chilli garlic sauce: heat oil in a pan , fry garlic and add tomato ketchup , red chilli,water , salt and lemon juice cook for 10 mins.
  6. Chop spring onions and carrot.
  7. In a saucepan add the veggies and add rice in the saucepan. Cook for 5 mins. 
  8. Heat a lightly oiled grilled pan , grill prawns on it.
  9. Using a round bowl , put rice in round shape in a platter , place prawns and pour chilli garlic sauce . 
  10. Serve.
