Ingredients for Chicken Shawarma:

  • Chicken breast 2 pieces
  • Tomato 2 tbsp
  • Garlic 1 tsp
  • Seven spices 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp
  • Mint 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar/ Orange juice 2 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp

For Sauce:

  • Tahini 1 cup
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Lemon juice 1/4 cup
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp

For Pita Filling:

  • Pita bread as required
  • Cucumber slice as required
  • Onion slice as required
  • Tomato slice as required
  • Pickle slice to taste

Method:

  1. Mix tomato paste, chopped garlic, seven spices, yogurt, mint, vinegar or orange juice, oil and salt well.
  2. Now marinate chicken with this mixture and leave for 30 minutes.
  3. In one frying pan, heat oil and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until brown.
  4. Serve with pita bread.

Ingredients for Pita Bread:

  • Flour 4 cup
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Warm water 1-1/2 cup
  • Yeast 1-1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. In one bowl, put yeast, sugar and warm water and keep for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. In one bowl, put flour and salt and mix well.
  3. Then add yeast mixture and water and make dough.
  4. Together spread olive oil on dough.
  5. Keep dough on separate pan, cover with cloth and keep in warm place.
  6. When double in size, take out from bowl, sprinkle flour and knead dough.
  7. Now make small small portions and leave for 10 minutes.
  8. Pre heat oven on 232 degrees C.
  9. In end, roll the portions, put in oven tray. Cook for 3 to 4 on both sides.
  10. Pita bread is ready.
