  • Tried this halwa last thurs. I did not use khoya but instead I used 1 cup milk and 1 cup thin cream. in US this thin cream is called half and half. I used 7 bread slices, 5 eggs, 1 cup sugar. i also used saffron dissolved in kewra. This is a must try, unbelievably delicious. But for halwas u must roast them properly. after frying toasts, it took me about 10-15 mins to roast (bhuno)halwa. I also soaked fried bread pieces in milk egg mixture for 15 mins.
