Ingredients For Madrasi Dahi Baray:

For Baray:

  • White lentil  1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste  1 tsp
  • Cumin powder  1 tsp
  • Baking soda  1/3 tsp
  • Oil  for fry
  • Salt   to taste

For Masala:

  • Whole red chili  5 to 6
  • Whole black pepper  1 tsp
  • Whole cumin  1 tbsp
  • Black cumin  1/2 tsp
  • Salt  to taste

Green Chutney:

  • Tamarind paste 1/2 cup
  • Mint  1 bunch
  • Green chilies  5 to 6
  • Salt  to taste

For Red Chutney:

  • Garlic   3 to 4
  • Tomato paste  1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder  1 tsp
  • Salt  to taste

For Garnish:

  • Yogurt  1/2 kg
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp

Method:

  1. First put the lentil in water add baking soda leave it for a whole night.
  2. Now grind it.
  3. Then add chopped garlic paste, chopped cumin and salt mix it well.
  4. Take a pan pour oil and paste oil with hand.
  5. After that fry it like a pakora and keep it out in a plate.

For Making Dahi Bara Masala:

  1. Take whole red chili, whole black pepper, whole cumin, black salt and salt grind it well. Masala is ready.
  2. For Green Chutney: Take a tamarind paste, green chili and salt grind it. green chutney is ready.
  3. For Red Chutney: Take garlic cloves, tomato paste, chopped red chilies and salt blend it well make its paste. Red chutney is ready.
  4. Take a deep bowl pour yogurt with water beat it well.
  5. Then add baray.
  6. Put remaining yogurt on its top.
  7. Add red chutney and green chutney, dahi baray with masala garnish it sprinkle chaat masala.
  8. Madrasi dahi baray are ready.
