Uradh Daal Gosht by Chef Tahira Mateen

Ingredients:

  • Mutton 750 gm
  • Gram lentil 2 cup
  • Onion 1 cup
  • Oil/Ghee 1 cup
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin seed 1 tsp
  • Mix spice powder 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Garlic 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger 2 tbsp
  • Dry mango powder 4-5 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chili crushed 5-6
  • Green chili whole 6-8

Method:

  1. Heat 3/4 cup oil and do onion golden brown in one pan.
  2. Mix red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and ginger garlic paste in 1/4 cup of water and make paste.
  3. Now put masala and fried onion and cook for 4-5 minutes. Now add meat and put water till meat tender.
  4. Put chopped ginger and green chilies in gram lentil and boil it. When it boils, add meat and cook for 6-8 minutes.
  5. In end, put cumin seed, mix spice powder and dry mango powder and cook more for 5 minutes.
  6. Heat 1/4 cup oil in frying pan and fry garlic and green chili.
  7. Give bhagar to lentil and serve hot.
