Ingredients for Dum Pukht:
- Chicken 1-1/2 kg
- Yogurt 1 cup
- Lemons 4
- Almonds 8
- Oil 1/2 cup
- White cumin 1 tsp
- Black peppercorn 1 tsp
- Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
- Ginger powder 2 tbsp
- Chicken tikka masala 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Grind white cumin an black peppercorn thick thick.
- Mix almonds and poppy seeds and grind it.
- Wash chicken nicely.
- Now mix ginger powder, black pepper, cumin, chicken tikka masala, salt, almond and poppy seed with yogurt in one bowl.
- Now marinate chicken with this yogurt with the help of lemon and keep for 30 minutes.
- Then put masala chicken in center of one pot, cover it and cook it.
- When water becomes to dry, put 1/2 cup oil and keep on simmer.
- Stir chicken until it becomes golden brown on all sides nicely.
- When it is roasted nicely, then dum pukht chicken is ready.
- Serve with hot naan and tamarind chutney.
