Ingredients for Shola:

  • Beef or mutton 1 kg
  • Green lentil 1/2 cup
  • Yellow lentil 1/2 cup
  • Gram lentil 1/2 cup
  • Barley 1 cup
  • Chopped fenugreek 3 bunches
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1-1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Onion 2
  • Soda bi carbonate a pinch

To Serve:

  • Chopped ginger 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies 8
  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Lemons 6
  • All spice powder as required
  • Cumin powder as required

For Bhagar:

  • Onion 3
  • Oil 1-1/2 cup

Method:

  1. First soak green lentil, yellow lentil and gram lentil in lukewarm water separately. Together soak wheat in hot water.
  2. Now put again soaked lentils in hot water, cook it and stir wooden spoon continuously. When tender, grind in blender.
  3. Then add hot water in wheat and boil it. Together put 2 tbsp oil. When whiteness comes, put soda bi carbonate.
  4. After that, put mince, onion, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, salt and oil and cook it.
  5. When water dries, put finely chopped fenugreek and finely chopped green chilies and roast it. Then add wheat and some water and keep on low flame.
  6. When mince and wheat becomes one, put lentils, all spice powder, cumin powder and keep on tawa. When you simmer more, it beomes more delicious.
  7. Now do onion golden brown in 1-1/2 cup oil, take out and spread on paper. Keep oil separate.
  8. In end, keep hot oil, onion, cumin powder, lemon, finely chopped mint, finely chopped green chilies and all spice powder together and delicious shola is ready.
