Ingredients for Achari Fish:

  • Boneless fish 1/2 kg
  • Yogurt 2 cup
  • Onion 1
  • Big green chili 8-10
  • Crushed red chili 1 tbsp
  • Crushed ginger 1 tbsp
  • Crushed garlic 1 tbsp
  • Fennel seed 1 tsp
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Onion seed 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seed 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seed 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Dry mango 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Put salt on fish, fry it and keep it aside.
  2. Now mix red chili powder, dry mango, cumin powder and salt in some yogurt, mix it, mark cut in big green chilies, fill in it and keep it aside.
  3. Now add crushed ginger, crushed garlic and onion in pan and fry 2-3 minutes.
  4. Now add yogurt, crushed red chili, fennel, white cumin, mustard seed, fenugreek seed and salt in mixing bowl, mix it and roast it.
  5. Then add water as required and green chilies, cover it and leave on simmer.
  6. When masala is ready, add fried fish, dish out it and serve it.
