Chicken In Tamarind Sauce by Zubaida Tariq

Ingredients:

  • Chicken boneless 1/2 kg
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Lemon 1
  • Chopped tomatoes 2
  • Green chilies 4
  • Whole red chili 8
  • Fenugreek seeds few
  • Curry leaves few
  • Chopped garlic 4 cloves
  • Green coriander 1/2 bunch
  • Tomato ketchup 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind paste 1/2 cup
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin 1 tbsp
  • Red chili 1 tbsp
  • Chopped ginger 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. First, mix tamarind paste, tomato ketchup, salt, crushed black pepper, red chili powder and chopped garlic nicely, mix in chicken and keep for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in karahi, put curry leaves, whole red chili and fenugreek seeds and do golden brown.
  3. Then put masala chicken and roast it lightly. Now cover it and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. After that, add finely chopped tomatoes, finely chopped green chili, lemon juice, roasted cumin, finely chopped green coriander and and chopped ginger and keep on simmer.
  5. Serve delicious chicken in tamarind sauce with plain rice.
