Ingredients for Spicy Fried Chicken:
- Milk 2 cups
- Lemon juice 1 lemon
- Dijon mustard 1 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Dry mustard 1 tsp
- Crushed red chili 1 tsp
- Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
For Fried Chicken:
- Chicken drumsticks 1 kg
- Flour 2 cups
- Baking powder 1 tbsp
- Garlic 1 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Oil deep fry
Method:
- Mix lemon juice with milk and stand aside to form buttermilk.
- Combine the buttermilk, mustard, salt, dry mustard, crushed red chilies and black pepper.
- Add the chicken pieces and turn to coat.
- Cover the refrigerate for at least 2 hours or over night.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, dry garlic and salt.
- Add chicken pieces and turn to coat thickly.
- Let the chicken stand 10 minutes turning occasionally to re-coat with flour.
- Shake off excess flour before frying in hot oil.
