Kharay Masalay Ki Maash Daal by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • White lentil 1/2 kg
  • Chopped onion 2
  • Big cardamom 3-4
  • Bay leaves 2-3
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Green coriander 1/2 bunch
  • Ginger sliced 1 inch
  • Chopped garlic 4-5 cloves
  • Cinnamon 2-3 sticks
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Whole cumin 1 tsp
  • Crushed red chili 1 tbsp
  • Oil 4-5 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Clean white lentil, wash it and soak for 30 minutes.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan, add green big cardamom, bay leaf, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, whole cumin and salt and roast it.
  3. Then add onion and garlic cloves and fry it.
  4. When onion becomes brown, then add crushed red chili, green chilies and lentil, mix it nicely and roast it.
  5. When lentil is tendered, add green coriander and give simmer.
  6. When simmer is completed, remove it, garnish with ginger slice and green coriander and serve it.
