Ingredients:

  • Red split lentil 1 cup
  • Tamarind 1 cup
  • Green chilies 4
  • Curry leaves few
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Bhagar:

  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves few
  • Red chilies 4-6
  • White cumin 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Wash red split lentil with lukewarm water and soak it.
  2. Now put soaked split lentil and 2 cup water and cook it.
  3. When lentil is cooked, chill it and grind in blender in a pot.
  4. After that, put again blended lentil in pot with turmeric, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, salt, green chilies, curry leaves, tamarind and one cup water and cook it.
  5. When green chilies is tendered, lentil is ready.
  6. For bhagar: Heat oil in frying pan, put all ingredients, make daal black and put on daal.
  7. Serve delicious khatti daal with plain rice.
