Chocolate Strawberry Delight by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:
- Chocolate cake 9 inch
- Separated eggs 4
- Condensed milk 3/4 tin
- Cooking chocolate 1-1/4 cup
- Gelatin 1-1/2 tbsp
- Cold water 1/4 cup
- Vanilla essence a few drops
- Whipping cream 1 cup
- Cream of tartar 1/8 tsp
- Fresh strawberries 1 to 1-1/2 kg
Method:
- Line a 9inch spring form pan with the chocolate cake layer.
- Arrange half the strawberries on the cake layer.
- Melt the chocolate over warm water and set aside.
- Sprinkle gelatin over cold water then leave it for a few minutes till it becomes spongy.
- Heat over medium heat till dissolved or in the micro for 30 seconds on high.
- Separate the egg yolks from the whites and keep aside the whites.
- In a small bowl, beat egg yolks till pale and thick.
- Add condensed milk gradually and beat well till mixed properly.
- Add melted gelatin to the yolks and mix well.
- Now add the melted chocolate in the yolk mixture.
- Whip the chilled cream till it is nice and fluffy.
- Fold it in the chocolate mixture.
- Beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar till stiff peaks.
- (Remember the beater and bowl has to be absolutely grease free. Other wise, whites will not become stiff).
- Now fold the whites into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour over the strawberry lined cake layer and totally submerge them with choc mousse.
- Let it chill in the freezer for 3-4 hours or overnight in the fridge.
- Once it is set, take it out and decorate with strawberries and chocolate decorations.
