Ingredients:

For Short Crust Pastry:

  • Flour 2 cups
  • Chilled butter 5 oz
  • Salt pinch
  • Egg yolk 1
  • Caster sugar 1 oz
  • Chilled water to knead

For Filling:

  • Chocolate 100 gm
  • Butter 3-1/2 oz
  • Golden syrup 3 tbsp
  • Eggs 3 beaten
  • Granulated sugar 5 oz
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Whipped cream for decoration
  • Chocolate curls or grated chocolate for decoration

Method:

  1. For short crust pastry: Crush butter in flour with hands.
  2. Now mix egg yolk, together add chilled water and mix until it becomes in shape of dough.
  3. Now make balls of dough and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
  4. Now roll pastry in flour.
  5. Now make layer of pastry in 10 inch tray and mark cuts with fork.
  6. Now bake in preheated oven on 100 degrees C for 20 minutes.
  7. For filling: Melt chocolate with butter in double boiler.
  8. Now put golden syrup.
  9. Then put vanilla essence, sugar, beaten eggs and chocolate mixture on crust and bake for 15 minutes until filling sets.
  10. Now chill it completely.
  11. In end, garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate and serve.
