Ingredients:
For Short Crust Pastry:
- Flour 2 cups
- Chilled butter 5 oz
- Salt pinch
- Egg yolk 1
- Caster sugar 1 oz
- Chilled water to knead
For Filling:
- Chocolate 100 gm
- Butter 3-1/2 oz
- Golden syrup 3 tbsp
- Eggs 3 beaten
- Granulated sugar 5 oz
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Whipped cream for decoration
- Chocolate curls or grated chocolate for decoration
Method:
- For short crust pastry: Crush butter in flour with hands.
- Now mix egg yolk, together add chilled water and mix until it becomes in shape of dough.
- Now make balls of dough and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
- Now roll pastry in flour.
- Now make layer of pastry in 10 inch tray and mark cuts with fork.
- Now bake in preheated oven on 100 degrees C for 20 minutes.
- For filling: Melt chocolate with butter in double boiler.
- Now put golden syrup.
- Then put vanilla essence, sugar, beaten eggs and chocolate mixture on crust and bake for 15 minutes until filling sets.
- Now chill it completely.
- In end, garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate and serve.
