Chicken Chutney by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg or 16 pieces
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Cloves 4-6
  • Onion 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes 3
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • All spice 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Tamarind pulp 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies 2 chopped

Method:

  1. First heat oil and put onion and clove.
  2. When light golden, add ginger garlic paste, salt, crushed red pepper and finely chopped tomatoes and fry it nicely until tomato is tendered and oil comes up.
  3. Then put boiled chicken with remaining stock.
  4. Now put sugar, 1 pinch orange color, in end put tamarind pulp, cover it and leave on simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In end, add coriander leaves and chopped green chilies.
