Garlic Fish by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Fish fillets 1/2 kg
  • Garlic 30 cloves
  • Green chilies 2
  • Lemon juice 1 lemon
  • Black peppercorns 1 tsp
  • Paprika powder 1 tsp
  • Flour 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 3 tbsp

Method:

  1. Roughly chop the 15 garlic cloves and put them into a chopped.
  2. Add green chilies, lemon juice and sufficient water and grind into smooth paste.
  3. To the fish cubes or fillets: Add the ground paste, crushed black peppercorns, paprika powder, flour and salt and mix well.
  4. Set aside to marinate half an hour. Heat oil.
  5. Crush the remaining garlic cloves and add to the pan and saute, stirring, till golden.
  6. Add the fish fillets or cubes, cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Flip and cook from the other side for 2 minutes.
