Daal Sabzi by Rida Aftab

Ingredients:

  • Boiled pigeon lentil 2 cups
  • Potato 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Peas 1 cup
  • Curry leaves 10
  • Tomatoes 250 gm
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Carom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili 1-1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1/2 cup
  • Green coriander, Green chilies as required

For Tarka:

  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Cumin 2 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Red chilies 10

Method:

  1. First put potato, carrot, peas, tomatoes, curry leaves, salt, carom powder and red chili in boiled pigeon lentil and cook on low flame.
  2. When tender, add lemon juice.
  3. Then put green coriander and green chilies.
  4. For tarka: Heat oil, put cumin, garlic cloves and red chilies, fry it and put on lentil.
  5. In end, sprinkle green coriander and green chilies and serve.
