Ingredients:

For Filling:

  • Mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios and raisins) 1 cup
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Caster sugar 1 cup
  • Coconut powder 3/4 cup

For Poori:

  • Flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Soda bi-carb 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee 1/4 cup
  • Water for mixing the above

Method:

  1. For the filling: Dry roast the coconut powder, poppy seeds, almonds and pistachios on the stove. Remove from the stove and then add sugar.
  2. To make pooriyan: Knead the flour by adding sugar, soda bi-carb, ghee in little bit of lukewarm water.
  3. The consistency of the batter should be soft.
  4. Mix a small amount of flour in rose water.
  5. This will be used for closing the poori.
  6. Make small loaves shaped poori.
  7. Include the filling and then deep fry in oil.
