Chana Daal Karahi by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Split bengal gram 500 gm
  • Tomatoes 3-4
  • Ginger garlic 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies 8-10
  • Red chilies 1-2 tbsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1 pinch
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger sliced for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in karahi pan, put ginger garlic and roast it.
  2. Now add green chilies and mix well.
  3. Then put tomatoes and roast it.
  4. Now add split bengal gram, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, carom seeds, red chilies, black pepper and salt, mix it well and roast it.
  5. Then put green chilies and fenugreek seeds, mix it well and cook it.
  6. When lentil tender and masala dries, take out in serving dish.
  7. Garnish with ginger sliced and serve.
