Vietnamese Style Sweet & Sour Chicken by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Egg 1
  • White flour 2-3 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 1 tsp
  • White pepper 1/3 tsp
  • Sliced carrot 1
  • Sliced green onion 2-3
  • Oil for fry
  • Salt to taste

For Sauce:

  • Chopped garlic 4-5 cloves
  • Vinegar 1/2 cup
  • Brown sugar 1 tbsp
  • Stock 1 cup
  • Green chilies 3-4
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Corn flour 1 tbsp
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Mix egg, garlic paste, white flour, brown sugar, salt and white pepper in mixing bowl, marinate chicken and leave for a while.
  2. Now heat oil in pan, fry chicken and keep it aside.
  3. For sauce: Heat oil and fry garlic.
  4. Now add vinegar, brown sugar, stock, black pepper, green chilies and salt and boil it.
  5. Then add cor flour and mix it.
  6. When sauce becomes thick, put chicken and mix it.
  7. Put carrot and green onion in cold water.
  8. Dish out chicken.
  9. Then garnish with carrot and green onion and serve.
