Apple Crumble by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

To Make Crumble:

  • Flour 1 cup
  • Brown sugar 1/2 cup
  • Butter (cubed) 100 gm
  • Butter for greasing

For Filling:

  • Apples 4 medium
  • Brown sugar 50 gm
  • Flour 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder a pinch
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Preheat oven for half an hour at 350 F or 180 C.
  2. Mix flour with sugar.
  3. Add butter and mix till it resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Grease ovenproof dish with butter and place apples in a layer.
  5. Sprinkle sugar, flour, and cinnamon on apples.
  6. Cover apples with crumble topping and bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  7. Serve with custard or ice cream.
