Kofta Makhni by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Mince 1/2 kg
  • Ginger garlic 2 tsp
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • White pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Balai 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Brown onion grinded 1 tbsp
  • Raw onion grinded 1
  • Egg 1
  • Bread slice 1

For Gravy:

  • Onion 1 grinded
  • Almonds grinded & blanched 10
  • Butter 2 oz
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • Ketchup 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Roasted cumin 1 tsp
  • All spice 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Green chilies as required

Method:

  1. Put mince, ginger garlic, all spice, chili powder, white pepper, salt, coriander leaves, balai, corn flour, brown onion, raw onion and egg in chopper and chop it until nice paste is made.
  2. Now mix it nicely and make shape of balls. Then keep it aside.
  3. For gravy: Heat butter and oil in frying pan.
  4. Now put grinded onion and do golden brown.
  5. Then add ginger garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Now put chili powder, roasted cumin, tomato puree, ketchup and 1 cup water and cook until it boils.
  7. Then add koftay in it.
  8. Now cook on medium flame so that koftay cooks and oil comes up.
  9. Put fresh cream, sugar, green chilies and green coriander.
