Lahori Shawarma by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Beef sliced 300 gm
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Whole spice powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili paste 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Onion slice 1
  • Cucumber sliced 1
  • Tomatoes sliced 1
  • Capsicum sliced 1
  • Cucumber pickle 1/2 cup
  • Pickled pepper 1/2 cup
  • Oil as required
  • Salt to taste

For Filling:

  • Pita bread 4
  • Lettuce leaves 3-4
  • Olive slices 1/2 cup
  • Hummus sauce as required
  • Tahini sauce as required

Method:

  1. For beef: Heat oil in pan and fry garlic paste.
  2. Now add beef slices and fry it.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, all spice powder, red chili paste, black pepper and salt, mix it, add water as required and tender meat.
  4. Now add lemon juice and mix it.
  5. Then add onion slice, tomato slice and capsicum slice, mix it and cook until crispy.
  6. Then add cucumber and pepper pickle and remove it.
  7. Then open pita bread pockets and add beef mixture.
  8. Now put lettuce leaves and olive slices.
  9. Then put hummus sauce and tahini sauce and serve.
