Shahi Tukray by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:
- White bread 8 slices
- Milk 2 cups
- Caster sugar 1 cup
- Cardamom pods 2
- Cloves 2
- Cinnamon sticks 2
- Saffron 1 pinch
- Sliced almonds 1/2 cup
- Oil 1 cup
Method:
- Cut white bread slices in 2-inch squares.
- Heat oil, fry bread squares until crispy and brown and take out in paper lined plate.
- Put milk and sugar in saucepan, boil it, reduce heat, add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and saffron and cook for 15 minutes.
- Then take out all whole spices from mixture and cool remaining mixture. Arrange bread i flat serving dish put mixture over bread and chill in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
- Garnish with almonds and serve.
