Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Rice 750 gm
  • Water 4 cups
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Green chilies 6
  • Whole spices 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dried plum 10-12
  • Oil 3/4 cup
  • Onion 1
  • All spice powder 1 tsp

For Potli:

  • Onion 1
  • Garlic cloves 15
  • Ginger 2
  • Whole coriander 2 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. For potli: Put all ingredients in muslin cloth and make potli.
  2. Put chicken with potli, water, tomatoes, green chilies, whole spices, salt, chili powder and dried plum and keep on simmer until chicken tender.
  3. Now take out chicken, strain stock and keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil and fry onion until golden.
  5. Then put chicken and fry until golden.
  6. Now put green chilies and tomatoes in chicken. Then add remaining stock. Put 2 tsp more salt and cook until it boils.
  7. Put all spice powder in rice, cook on high flame for 10 minutes and take out potli.
  8. Keep on simmer on low flame and serve hot.
