Ingredients:

  • Flour 2-1/2 cup heaped
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Shortening 1/2 cup
  • Chilled Butter 2 ounce
  • Cheddar cheese 1/2 cup
  • Chilled water for dough

Ingredients for filling

  • Apples 4 peeled, poured and cut into 1/4 inch thick wedges.
  • Pineapple syrup 1 cup
  • Corn flour 4 tbsp
  • Caster sugar 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder 1/2 tsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Cheddar cheese 4 tbsp

Method:

  1. Heat pineapple syrup in sauce pan.
  2. Stir corn flour and cinnamon until thick.
  3. In bowl, put apples, caster sugar, lemon juice and salt and mix it.
  4. Then mix in prepared pineapple syrup and pour in greased casserole dish.
  5. Put butter and cheddar cheese on top.
  6. For dough: Mix flour, salt, butter, cheddar cheese and shortening until it becomes like bread crumbs.
  7. Now add chilled water little little until it comes in shape of dough.
  8. Now roll dough and put in dish.
  9. Now put apple mixture, brush with beaten eggs and bake in preheated oven on 180 degree C for 30 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
