Ingredients:

  • Dates 225 gm
  • Soda by carb 1/2 tsp
  • Baking powder 1/4 tsp
  • Flour 3-1/2 oz
  • Butter 4-1/2 oz
  • Sugar 4-1/2 oz
  • Walnuts 1/2 cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Cut dates and take out seeds.
  2. Now soak in 5 tbsp water.
  3. Then put soda and keep it aside for 1 hour.
  4. Now strain flour and baking powder.
  5. Then mix butter and sugar and beat it until light and fluffy.
  6. Now add eggs 1 by 1 and beat it nicely.
  7. Now fold in flour little little.
  8. Then add vanilla essence.
  9. Now fold walnuts and dates mixture.
  10. Now grease loaf pan nicely, spread mixture and bake in preheated oven on 180 degrees C for 35-40 minutes.
  11. Serve with custard.
