Ingredients:

  • Rice 1/2 kg
  • Boiled gram lentil 1/2 cup
  • Red gram 1/2 cup
  • Dried red chilies 6
  • Curry leaves 6
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Shredded fresh coconut 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Onion 1
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Heat 4 tbsp oil and fry onion until brown.
  2. Now put 1 cup water, salt, turmeric, gram lentil and red lentil.
  3. When it boils, add rice and water and cook until water dries.
  4. Now simmer it.
  5. Heat remaining oil in frying pan, put curry leaves, dried red chilies, mustard seeds and coconut and fry it.
  6. Then put on rice, mix it and sprinkle red chili powder on top.
