Delhi Darbar Ki Khaas Biryani by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg or 16 pieces
  • Potatoes 3
  • Brown onion 3/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder 2 tsp
  • Yogurt 1-1/2 cup
  • Whole spices mixed 1 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts 10
  • Coconut 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
  • Mint leaves 15-20
  • Green chilies 6
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Cream 2 tbsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Rice 600 gm
  • Saffron 1/2 tsp
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Oil 3/4 cup

Method:

  1. Heat oil, fry potatoes until golden and take it out.
  2. Now put onion in this oil, fry until light golden and take it out.
  3. Then add whole spices mix with ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric, chili powder and chicken and fry for 5 minutes.
  4. Now put yogurt with cashew nuts, coconut and 1 cup water, cover it and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. When chicken tender, add potatoes, fried onion, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, saffron and milk and cook until gravy is thick.
  6. In end, put all spice and take it out.
  7. Put boiled rice, cream, butter and lemon juice on top, cover it and cook until it is ready.
