Parsi Green Mutton Curry by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Mutton meat 1/2 kg
  • Onion 1
  • Garlic 4-5 cloves
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts 1/2 cup
  • Coconut 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Coriander 1 bunch
  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Oil 1/3 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For mutton marination: Marinate mutton with lemon  juice, turmeric and salt for 30 minutes in mixing bowl.
  2. For coconut paste: Put coconut, green chilies, onion, poppy seeds, garlic cloves, cashew nuts, fennel seeds and coriander powder in blender and make paste.
  3. For green paste: Make paste of coriander and mint leaves.
  4. Heat oil in pan and fry cumin.
  5. Then put onion and fry it.
  6. Now put marinated mutton and roast it nicely.
  7. Then add coconut paste and water as required and cook until meat tender.
  8. When meat tender, add green paste and roast it nicely.
  9. If you want to keep gravy, add water and dish out.
  10. In end, garnish with cashew nut and serve.
