Chocolate Doughnuts by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:
- Flour 2 cup
- Sugar 3/4 cup
- Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- Baking soda 1 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Milk 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp
- Eggs 2
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Butter (melted) 2 tbsp
For the Glaze:
- Cream 1 tbsp
- Milk 1 tbsp
- Butter 1/4 cup
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Corn syrup 2 tsp
- Chocolate 2 oz
- Chocolate chips to sprinkle
- Colorful sprinkles to top
- Icing sugar 1-1/4 cups
Method:
- For doughnuts: Mix dry ingredients in bowl.
- Beat in eggs, milk, vanilla and butter.
- Beat until well blended.
- Lightly grease doughnut pan.
- Fill each doughnut cup about 3/4 full.
- Bake donuts in preheated oven at 190 degrees C for about 10 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly, remove from pan.
- While cooling, make chocolate glaze.
- In saucepan mix together cream, milk, butter, vanilla and corn syrup.
- When butter is completely melted, turn heat to low and add in the chocolate.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the icing sugar.
- Dip each doughnut into glaze, allow to cool.
- Sprinkle with any toppings or sprinkles or chocolate chips.
- Allow chocolate to set and serve.
