Aloo Chanay Ki Achari Biryani by Rida Aftab

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes 2
  • Boiled white chickpea 1/2 kg
  • Boiled rice 1 kg
  • Yellow food color 1 pinch
  • Mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Star anise 4
  • Green chilies 6
  • Cardamom 6
  • Dried plum 50 gm
  • Mixed pickle 250 gm
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Tomatoes 250 gm
  • Onions 250 gm
  • Whole black pepper 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Kewra 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Black cumin 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Mace, Nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into square.
  2. Heat oil and fry potatoes until golden brown.
  3. Then take it out and keep it aside.
  4. Fry onion until brown in remaining oil and take out some onion.
  5. Now put ginger garlic paste, chickpea, salt,turmeric, coriander powder, nutmeg, mace, bay leaves, plum, black pepper, black cumin and cardamom and roast it nicely.
  6. Then beat yogurt, put tomatoes, mint leaves and green chilies and spread on chickpea.
  7. Also put fried potatoes.
  8. Then make one layer of mixed pickle.
  9. Put rice on top.
  10. Then put kewra and food color and add remaining onion.
  11. In end, simmer it for 30 minutes.
  12. Aloo chanay ki achari biryani is ready.
