Sabzi Daal by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Moong ki daal - 1/2 cup
  • Arther ki daal - 1/2 cup
  • Masoor ki daal - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 15
  • Chopped green chilies - 2 to 3
  • Chopped onions - 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Grounded green chilies - 4
  • Chopped tomatoes - 3
  • Chili powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric - 3/4 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Cubed capsicum - 1
  • Cubed carrots - 2
  • Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Cubed bottle gourd - 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Boil all the three daals in water till they are fully boiled.
  2. Crush them a little and keep it a side.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped green chilies, chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste, grounded green chilies, chopped tomatoes and fry for 5 minutes more.
  5. Now add chili powder, turmeric, salt, cubed capsicum, cubed carrots, peas, cubed bottle gourd. Mix well and add 1 cup of water.
  6. Cover the lid and cook till the vegetable gets boiled.
  7. Now add salt and daals and leave it on dum for 15 minutes.
  8. serve with coriander leaves on top.
