Ingredients:

  • Butter 2 oz
  • Brown sugar 1/2 cup
  • Pitted cherries 1/2 kg

For Cake:

  • Butter 8 oz
  • Caster sugar 8 oz
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Eggs 4
  • Vanilla essence 1-1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon 1/2 tsp
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Soft drink 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Put butter in 9 inch pan cake, spread it nicely, sprinkle brown sugar, keep cherries and keep tin aside.
  2. For cake mixture: Beat butter and sugar and add eggs.
  3. Then beat essence and cinnamon and fold in baking powder, salt, milk and soft drink.
  4. Now put this mixture in baking pan, bake on 180 degrees C for 45 minutes and serve it.
