Matka Pir Biryani by Shireen Anwer

Ingredients:

  • Rice boiled 1/2 kg
  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Whole spices 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Whole red chilies dried 4
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Yellow food color 1/4 tsp
  • Oil 1/2 kg
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Heat oil, put ginger garlic paste and fry for 3 minutes.
  2. Now put mutton, whole spices, bay leaves, red chilies, red chili powder and salt and fry for 5 minutes.
  3. Now add yogurt, mix it and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Then put 2 cups water, cover it and cook until meat tender and oil comes up.
  5. Now mix yogurt with food color in it and cook more for 5 minutes till gravy it thick.
  6. Then spread gravy on ready rice and simmer it for 20 minutes.
  7. Biryani is ready.
