Ingredients:

  • Red split lentils 1/2 kg
  • Tamarind pulp 50 gm
  • Jaggery 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Whole green chilies 4
  • Green coriander 1/2 bunch
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Put turmeric, salt, red chili powder and ginger garlic paste and red lentils and cook on low flame.
  2. When lentil tender, put green chilies, green coriander, tamarind pulp and jaggery and close stove.
  3. Then heat oil in frying pan, put cumin and garlic, heat it and give tarka to lentil.
  4. Then put garam masala powder and green coriander.
  5. Khatti meethi daal is ready.
