Colorful Custard by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Milk 5 cups
  • Colored vermicelli 1 cup
  • Custard powder 3 tbsp
  • Sugar 3/4 cup
  • Green cardamoms 2
  • Cloves 2
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
  • Cream 200 gm
  • Fruit cocktail 1 medium can

Method:

  1. Heat ghee, add cardamom and cloves with vermicelli, fry for 2 minutes and add in all but 1/2 cup milk.
  2. Cook till boiling.
  3. Add sugar, then slowly add in dissolved custard powder with 1/2 cup milk and set aside.
  4. Add vanilla essence.
  5. Remove and cool.
  6. Lastly fold in cream and fruit cocktail.
  7. Serve chilled.
