Chinese Style Bun by Chef Gulzar

Ingredients:

  • Maida 2 cups
  • Milk 250 gm
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Yeast 1 sachet
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • Butter 1-2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Filling:

  • Boneless chicken (chopped) 250 gm
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Honey 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped onion 1
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Crushed black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds 3-4 tbsp
  • Egg yolk 1
  • Olive oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Add sugar and yeast in lukewarm water, mix it nicely and leave it.
  2. Now add maida, baking powder, salt and butter and mix it nicely.
  3. When yeast rises, add in maida.
  4. Then put milk and knead it.
  5. Now cover with plastic.
  6. For filling: Add chicken, soya sauce, ginger paste, 1 tbsp olive oil and honey in mixing bowl, mix it nicely and leave for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Heat remaining oil in pan and stir fry chicken mixture.
  8. Now add onion and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Then put coriander leaves, remove it and leave it aside for cool. Filling is ready.
  10. Now take out dough, roll it, cut in shape of round bun, keep filling and close it.
  11. Then beat egg yolk and spread on bun.
  12. Then sprinkle sesame seeds, keep on baking tray and bake in preheat oven on 200 degrees C for 18-20 minutes.
