Tutti Fruity Biscuits by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Flour 1-1/2 cup
  • Butter 1/2 cup
  • Caster sugar 1/3 cup
  • Tutti fruity chopped 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
  • Yellow color 1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add cardamom powder, tutti fruity and vanilla essence.
  3. Mix again.
  4. Slowly add flour.
  5. Mix well and shape dough into a square log shape.
  6. Wrap with cling film and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  8. Take out dough from fridge and cut into 1/2 inch thick squares.
  9. Place cookies on tray with 2 inch space in between each one, as they expand while baking.
  10. Bake cookies for 15 minutes or until sides are starting to turn light golden.
  11. Do not brown them.
  12. Cookies will come out with sides hard and center soft, which will get hard while cooling, so do not over bake them.
  13. Let them cool on tray for 5 minutes and then transfer them to cooling rack to cool completely.
