Prawn Bread Rolls by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Prawns 10
  • White bread 5 slices
  • Soya sauce 1 tbsp
  • Onion powder 1 tsp
  • Curry powder 2 tsp
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Egg 1
  • Oil for frying
  • Lettuce leaves few

Method:

  1. In bowl, combine prawns, onion powder, soya sauce, curry powder and salt and pepper.
  2. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Lay flattened bread on board.
  4. Place one marinated prawn onto bread.
  5. Roll bread so that shrimp is held in middle of bread with the tail sticking out of one end.
  6. Seal edges of roll closed with beaten egg.
  7. Continue this process with each prawn.
  8. Heat oil, place few prawn rolls in oil at time.
  9. Fry until bread turns a golden brown color.
  10. Drain on paper towel and serve on plate of lettuce.
