Ginger Chicken Karahi by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg
  • Ginger paste 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Onion chopped 1 large
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Tomato paste 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chilies 1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 tsp
  • Amchoor or khatai powder 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • Coriander seeds crushed 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick 1
  • Black peppercorns 4-6
  • Cloves 4-6
  • Bay Leaves 2-3
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves handful
  • Green chilies chopped 4-6
  • Ginger  1 inch

Method:

  1. Marinate chicken ginger paste and garlic paste for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in pan, add marinate chicken and saute it.
  3. Then add onion and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Now add all dry ingredients and 3 green chilies and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Now add tomato paste and mix it nicely.
  6. Then put water, sprinkle coriander leaves and ginger and add 3 green chilies.

Ginger Chicken Karahi is Spicy Pakistani Dish. It is Popular & Common Dish in Pakistan. It is usually served as Dinner in Parties and Restaurants. It is served with Naan and Raita.
